Hammer. Color. Fantasy. BUILDING BUDDIES is an interactive world of building, design and discovery. Children are immersed in a lively neighborhood where everyone can create something – from the garden to the roof. With tools, curiosity and team spirit, houses, gardens and entire stories are created here.
The exhibition invites children to playfully plan, build and get creative – and shows how many small hands can create something big.
The Building Buddies stations
Building Buddies inspires with a colorful neighborhood full of ideas and zest for action. Children explore different houses, meet likeable characters and slip into the role of little builders themselves.
At each station, they plan, paint, build or design – playfully, together and with lots of fun trying things out.
Entrance - Happy Homes
Welcome to the neighborhood!
Your adventure starts here: put on your vest and helmet, slip into your master builder role and enter our small cluster of five colorful houses. Ready? Let’s go!
Entrance - Peter Plan
Plan. Turn. Discover.
In this module, you design the interior of a large house – with twelve rotatable modules. Combine as you wish: Which colors, shapes, rooms do you choose? It’s your idea that counts!
Eva Gardner
Green. Creative. Just do it.
The garden station invites you to plant flowers on the wall, put your garden together and grab a paintbrush. Use large rollers to paint on the windows and change the color of the light – making your garden unique!
Billy O'Toole
Welcome to the construction site of fun!
Climb onto the scaffolding, transport building blocks with the bucket & rope and place them on the conveyor belt. Bricklaying, lifting, building – children experience real building site energy here.
Pipa Long Pipes
Design. Connect. Build.
There’s a lot going on here: lay gaudy tile patterns, connect pipes in the plumber’s workshop, saw and build in the timber construction area and crawl through the big tube. Creativity knows no bounds!
The Walton's House
Building a house together!
Raising walls, installing a fireplace, transporting bricks with a wheelbarrow – and then having space to think further. This station invites you: Your house, your design, your style!
Winston's House
A home for Winston – built by you!
The roof and walls for our four-legged friend Winston are being built here. With attention to detail, with imagination and with you. Let’s give Winston a home!
